I've bought 3 so far (units for E83, F25 & E64), and haven't had any issues. Paul the Sales and Marketing person is a great guy, quick to get back to you if you get stuck, he provides installation and usage instructions in English, the units are good quality, anti-reflective displays, options with built in 4G LTE network utilising micro sims, lots of RAM & ROM with fast processors, complete with mics for BT phone calling etc. The Android head/replacement screen route would be the easiest for a self confessed newbee. Let me know if you want the screen or if I can help. There's only a couple of them still working on E series. Not sure of the cost, you'll have to shop. Bimmertech or whatever company that sells a complete package with programming. You may want to consider the package deals too. But I can help you save time and money with some guidance if you take this route. I know I have a CIC screen that will work for you. I do have a part or two that might help you. I love it now, but it was a steep learning curve. So much of the info available is for E90's and E65's and it doesn't work for us.

After rebuilding the motor I figured I would have the car a while so I wanted some bling inside as well.

Think about a 5 or 6 year old tablet.Īs Herb said, I just did the retrofit (CCC to CIC). Several years ago I put one of those Android systems in my E53 and liked it very much for about 3 years and then the App/OS updates and lack of RAM made the thing kind of obsolete.
